Although Sassaman is leading the betting, he is not the only candidate in the running. Cryptography pioneer Hal Finney came in second with 15% odds.
Finney is a name often mentioned in the context of Bitcoin, and for good reason. He was one of the first to adopt cryptocurrencies and even received his first Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi himself.
This closeness to Nakamoto, coupled with his significant contributions to the field of cryptography, makes Finney a likely candidate, even if there is disagreement within the community as to his exact role.
It is also interesting that some believe that Finney may have been working closely with Nakamoto, or even operating under that pseudonym. But despite these theories, his odds are still lower than Sassaman’s, according to Polymarket.
Other candidates include Nick Szabo, best known for his work on smart contracts, and Adam Back, creator of HashCash, a technology that had a major impact on the development of Bitcoin. Masu.
