A new bronze statue depicting Bitcoin’s anonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto has been unveiled in Switzerland.
Early this morning, at the 3rd Lugano Plan B Forum in Switzerland, the Plan B Initiative, a collaboration between Tether and the City of Lugano, unveiled a statue honoring the faceless founder of BTC.

The “disappearing” visual effect of the statue represents the anonymity of the BTC creator.
Michele Foretti, Mayor of Lugano, said of the work:
“Lugano is rapidly becoming a leading hub for digital innovation, and this statue not only honors Satoshi Nakamoto, but also embodies the forward-thinking spirit that drives our city. We are proud to host this event and support the growth of blockchain technology and digital assets, and are excited to now be home to this statue honoring the founder of Bitcoin.”
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the statue is a fitting tribute to one of the core tenets of blockchain technology: decentralization.
“Satoshi Nakamoto’s statue is a testament to the revolutionary impact of Bitcoin and the idea of decentralization.Satoshi’s decision to step back and take control of his community demonstrates the true nature of decentralization. It shows.
This artwork serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of Satoshi’s vision and inspires us to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and economic freedom. We are proud to announce this tribute to a visionary who reshaped the world of finance and empowered millions of people around the world. ”
