Meme coins took full advantage of the return of the bullish mood on Monday, with less established coins topping the list of the market’s biggest gainers.
What happened: Solana SOL/USD-based BOOK OF MEME rose over 28%, becoming the best-performing cryptocurrency over the past 24 hours.
The token soared to levels not seen since July 30, with trading volume surging more than 68% to $702.34 million.

.Dog World’s cat-themed meme coin Cat occupied second place on the 24-hour list of biggest gainers after a 22% surge. The trading volume of this coin has almost doubled in the past 24 hours, indicating high buying pressure.
Yet another Solana-based token, Bonk, rose 10% to become the best-performing $1 billion market cap meme coin in 24 hours.

Blue chip currencies such as Dogecoin DOGE/USD and Shiba Inu SHIB/USD also showed some gains, rising 3.78% and 3.13% respectively.
Overall, memecoin market capitalization increased by more than 6% in the past 24 hours.
The rally followed a broader market rally in which market bellwether Bitcoin BTC/USD surged more than 5%, reaching levels not seen since late July.
