CHICAGO (August 29, 2024) – The National Association of Realtors® is pleased to announce that Tether RE won the 6th Annual Pitch Battle Competition at the 2024 Innovation, Opportunity, and Investment (iOi) Summit. I’m proud.
Second Century Ventures, the strategic investment arm of NAR, will host this year’s Pitch Battle in Chicago, where participating companies will have the opportunity to demonstrate innovative tools and resources designed for the commercial and residential real estate markets. Given.
The grand prize went to Tether RE, a startup that provides a suite of tools to improve the safety and productivity of real estate professionals. The platform combines advanced safety features with critical productivity tools to ensure agents are protected from initial contact to exit while streamlining daily operations.

“This year’s Pitch Battle showcased outstanding innovations that are setting new standards in the real estate sector,” said Dan Wiseman, NAR Innovation Strategy Director. “The ingenuity displayed by Tether RE represents the progressive advances we support at the iOi Summit and NAR’s continued efforts to enhance the services offered to real estate professionals and consumers alike. We congratulate Tether RE on their outstanding achievements.”
Tether RE co-founder Vanessa Martin began her winning pitch by highlighting the critical need for increased security measures in the real estate industry.
“Thirty thousand real estate agents were victims of violent crime last year alone,” she said.
Martin explained the core features of Tether RE, including 24-hour safety monitoring, client verification, SOS alerts, proximity safety timers, and fall and collision alerts. Additionally, the platform improves agent productivity by integrating critical tools such as turn-by-turn navigation, automatic mileage and expense tracking, and personalized agent branding.
“We’re proud of the platform we’ve created and know it will help agents when they need it most,” Martin said. “It’s time to focus on what’s important, because the most important thing in any transaction is getting home safely.”
Tether RE will receive $15,000 and a booth at the NAR Annual Conference (NAR NXT) in November.
Voted by in-person and virtual audiences, the Pitch Battle crowd favorite was Tuesday, a social MLS app built specifically for agents.
On Tuesday, CEO Coulton Boyer explained how the company’s mobile-first approach streamlines real estate market intelligence into a user-friendly social feed.
“It’s the energy of Tuesday’s meeting, the ease of the Instagram feed, and the exact data you get on MLS,” Boyer said.
