Even Dogecoin co-founder Billy Marcus shared his thoughts on the true identity of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto. Like many others, Marcus reiterates that it is not Peter Todd, as the HBO documentary claims.
Dogecoin: Billy Marcus denies identity of Bitcoin creator revealed by HBO
Dogecoin co-founder Billy Marcus has denied the revelations in an HBO documentary about the true identity of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto.
Not Peter Todd bro 🤦‍♂️
— Shibetoshi Nakamoto (@BillyM2k) October 9, 2024
“That’s not Peter Todd, brother.”
In fact, this week all eyes are on Karen Hoback’s documentary revealing that Satoshi Nakamoto is Peter Todd. For many, like Marcus, this revelation was a real disappointment.
Regarding this matter, Mr. Marx added:
“[Todd]is one of the most OG developers, but he’s not a creator.”
In fact, the crypto community seems to have almost completely ignored the HBO documentary’s hypothesis. It looks like it’s full of holes.
For many, the reported evidence does not support the theory that Peter Todd is the real Satoshi Nakamoto, but only provides clues and speculation.
Therefore, even the co-founder of Dogecoin sided with the disappointed people.
Dogecoin: Billy Marcus reveals the true identity of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto
In a compilation of tweets talking about Satoshi Nakamoto, Marcus said that when asked about his true identity, the Dogecoin co-founder didn’t hesitate to share his opinion.
“If you had to guess, who would it be?”
Hal Finney and friends
So, according to Dogecoin’s Marcus, the real creators of Bitcoin are a group called Hal Finney and his friends.
It’s actually not the first time we’ve heard that Satoshi Nakamoto and Hal Finney are related, but unfortunately, this theory can’t be confirmed considering the software developer is no longer around.
In fact, this August marks exactly 10 years since the death of Hal Finney, who is remembered by the crypto community as the person who conducted the first-ever P2P transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Specifically, a total of 10 BTC was being sent from Satoshi Nakamoto’s address to Finney’s address, presumably as a test.
Small dump in BTC price
All the comments on the HBO documentary turned out to be negative, and so did the price of BTC over the past 24 hours.
In fact, as of this writing, BTC is worth $60,945, down -2.45% in the past 24 hours.
No one knows whether this price drop reflects crypto investors’ disappointed reaction to Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity.
But on the contrary, earlier this week, BTC was above $64,000. The theory behind this price increase last weekend is that Asian markets are pushing BTC higher.
