Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor recently took to the X social media network to urge his followers to buy “a piece of cyberspace.”
This isn’t the first time Saylor has used futuristic concepts to promote the largest cryptocurrency.
“Bitcoin is the shining city of cyberspace. And if you understand it, you can get there,” Thaler said in a speech at the Atlas Society gala in 2022.
“If you can transfer something of value through cyberspace without a trusted third party, that means you can express something of value in cyberspace without a trusted third party. It means being able to create, store and transfer,” he explained.

According to Saylor, legendary Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto was able to open a “portal” from the physical realm to the digital realm, allowing energy to flow into cyberspace.
Saylor also used a cyberspace metaphor in an interview with CNBC in March, in which he described Bitcoin as expensive real estate. Bitcoin evangelists believe that the primary role of the original cryptocurrency is to ensure preservation of capital. He doesn’t think of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange.
Bitcoin approaches $63,000
Saylor’s recent pitch on Bitcoin coincided with a new rally in the cryptocurrency.
Earlier today, the cryptocurrency was on the verge of reclaiming the $63,000 level and hit a high of $62,910.
