Binance Pool has launched new features for Litecoin (LTC) miners. We have integrated mining with Bellscoin (BEL). By participating, miners can earn rewards in Litecoin, Dogecoin (DOGE), and BEL. Although BEL is not listed on Binance, this marks a significant moment for the asset created by Billy Markus, the same person behind Dogecoin.
Bellscoin was created eight days before Dogecoin, making it an interesting part of crypto history. However, unlike DOGE, BEL has not gained similar popularity and remains excluded from major exchanges. According to a statement from the exchange, the start of merge mining on BEL does not mean that BEL will be listed on Binance immediately. Binance has clearly stated that acquiring BEL through mining does not guarantee future listing of the token.
Merge mining allows users to donate their computing power to multiple networks and earn rewards from different blockchain projects simultaneously. This setup increases profitability for miners, especially those interested in Litecoin, Dogecoin, and now Bellcoin.
Litecoin and Dogecoin prices drop 2% after mining begins
This new feature went live on September 29th, and Binance provided users with clear instructions on how to participate. User payments depend on mining pool performance. For Litecoin miners, this creates new opportunities to diversify their revenue with BEL and DOGE adding additional rewards.
Interestingly, despite this announcement, the market saw a slight decline in Litecoin and Dogecoin prices. On Monday, both cryptocurrencies erased about 2% of their value. LTC price remained around $65, while DOGE fell slightly to close at around $0.06.
The future of Bellscoin will be in the spotlight as more miners join the new integrated mining functionality. Although it is not yet a tradeable asset on Binance, its link to Dogecoin’s creator could increase its visibility. For now, miners can profit while the market monitors BEL’s next move.
However, miners are reminded that the reward on BEL is just a reward and there is no promise of listing on Binance.
